Solar Multiplier Down to 4X July 1st

Literally speaking now is the best time to install your solar PV panel system before it prices go up due to reduced rebates. It’s official that federal government will be decreasing the solar multiplier from 5x down to 4x. Reasons are classified but we all know is that it will be effective this July 1st.

If you wanted to qualify for 5x multiplier you need to have your new solar system actually installed on your roof before the specified date of July 1st. It may not sound big if we say from 5x to 4x but the reduction will increase the price you pay by over $1200 for a typical 1.5 KW system.

It’s possible that the reductions will gradually continue until there will be none at all, and cert6ainly they are very unlikely to rise to their current levels again…….. If the scheme will not be subject to change earlier the multiplier will be down to 2x by the year 2016 and from onwards there can nothing at all.

It’s a quite blatant incentive since the rebates are magnets by the government to encourage as many people as possible to go green. It is a program where they reward qualified renewable energy source owners such solar PV panels who take advantage of at as soon as possible.

If you see this trend as a concern because you don’t think you can afford to install a solar power system right now, then you shouldn’t. There are green loans & interest free solar loans available for up to $10,000 today so there’s no reason why you can’t take advantage of the 5x multiplier. Just don’t leave it till the last minute ads the peak demand means that installation times could extend out at least 8 weeks, and July 1st isn’t far away!

The government funding is actually partly responsible for the more affordable solar PV panel technology today too, thanks to greater demand and improved manufacturing methods & costs. Now it is up to you to take action and make the most out of it.

Important Reminder: Always check with the Clean Energy Council of Australia for the list of certified installers and manufacturers or otherwise you won’t qualify for the scheme either.

  1. though the multiplier will go down from 5 to 4 it is still a good catch. I think installing a solar energy system will definitely make a difference

  2. 5 is better than 4, and we are talking over a thousand dollars here, so if you are planning to install one why not do it until now until you can get 5x..

  4. My point is just, we shouldn't be discourage to be green and have renewable energy sources by this issues.. yes 5 is better than 4 but it is still an incentive we can benefit from...
